Who We Are

The  New  Orleans Chapter was founded May 16, 1970, with 8 charter members. We  promote  aviation,  education,  safety,  and  careers. Today, known as the NOLA 99s Chapter includes members throughout greater New Orleans and Southeast Louisiana. And we love to fly together!

Vision

The NOLA 99s will increase its Chapter membership 100% by 2023 through expanding outreach at all airports in South Louisiana.

Mission

The Ninety-Nines is the international organization of women pilots that promotes advancement of aviation through education, scholarships and mutual support while honoring our unique history and sharing our passion for flight.

Karen Weldon

Chapter Chair

Karen is an instrument rated private pilot who flies her Piper Archer. She has served in the position of Chapter Chair for 4 years. leading the NOLA99s through extraordinary growth. She is a Director of the Southeast Section and serves on the International Nominating Committee. She was inducted into the International Forest of Friendship in the Summer of 2017.

Gabriella Roude

Student Pilot

Gabby is all smiles after her first solo cross country flight.   Through sheer determination she has earned a bachelors degree in anthropology and a post graduate diploma in social science methodology.   She has set her sights on earning her commercial certificate and instrument rating to blend her passions, anticipating a career in  medical, research, humanitarian or disaster relief pilot.

Julie Jones

Commercial Pilot

Julie has single, multiengine & instrument ratings, logging 1300 hrs. She is a contract pilot on a King Air and enjoys flying her C182 to the Bahamas. She was member of the Classic Cajun 2016 Air Race Team and an active pilot for the Cajun Airlift flying relief supplies in 2017. Julie has a degree in music and is gifted in vocals, percussion, keyboard, guitar and mandolin.
